Daniil Medvedev won the biggest title of his career last Sunday, beating US Open champion Dominic Thiem 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 after two hours and 43 minutes to win the Nitto ATP Finals.
Medvedev, who also beat five-time champion Novak Djokovic. The second-seeded Rafael Nadal a day earlier, becoming the first athlete to beat a top three player in the FedEx ATP rankings in a season finale. Daniil is the fourth player to do so at a single event since the ATP Tour began in 1990. Medvedev is the first domestic player to win a Big Eight championship since Nikolay Davydenko in 2009.
