As the postman Pechkin, the famous character of the Soviet cartoon “Holidays in Prostokvashino” said: “Your mother is broadcasting either here or there”. In 40 years, it is still true to life but with new realities.
The XXV International tennis tournament St. Petersburg Open 2020 was allowed to be held with 50% fans in the stands but the organizers also created a virtual tribune for true tennis fans. So, now there are lucky people who either have bought tickets and come to SIBUR ARENA to watch tennis or participated in special online activities with tennis supporters.
How does it work?
Prior to he start of the tournament anyone can sign up as a fan to get a secret link on ZOOM calls. And now every evening the hosts of the Formula TX YouTube channel together with virtual fans and one of the tournament’s participants are communicating via ZOOM, discussing different topics and playing quizzes.
A special contest is held amongst the 243 people who were registered as virtual fans. And the best one will win a smartphone. That is why it is not just a unique opportunity to communicate with tennis players but also a good chance to win a new gadget.
Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan, Milos Raonic from Canada and Andrey Rublev from Russia have already joined the online-sessions. It is very unusual to watch tennis players off-court, they are answering openly different type of questions and participate in fun quizzes.
