Shapovalov wins opening match in St. Petersburg
The Canadian with Russian roots Denis Shapovalov reached R2 of St. Petersburg Open 2018. No.7 seed beat the qualification winner Adrian Menendez-Maceiras from Spain in 1 hour 22 minutes – 7/6(3), 6/2.
Shapovalov converted two break points, while his opponent didn’t have any chance to break.
Denis will vie for a place in QF with the Italian Matteo Berrettini.
