Main Draw of St. Petersburg Open Takes Shape

After all qualification matches were played, the main draw of St. Petersburg Open 2019 was shaped up. The only Russian qualifier who reached the main draw is Alexey Vatutin. He found himself in the lower part of the draw and will play against the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in R1. The winner of this match will face fourth-seed Borna Coric in the second round. Andrey Rublev will square off with Ilya Ivashka from Belarus, and Evgeny Donskoy will meet on the court with lucky loser Matteo Viola. Two qualifiers – Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic and Egor Gerasimov from Belarus – will play against each other.

The champion of St. Petersburg Open-2017 – the Bosnian Damir Dzumhur – was defeated by Rosol in the qualifications finals, but returned to the tournament getting into the main draw as a lucky loser to play against Serbian Janko Tipsarevic.
