“To be honest, I am very happy. I just stuck to my style after I won not to be overwhelmed with emotions after the victory. I began to do this in Cincinnati. But I really had a hard time containing myself not to show emotions. But I managed. I am really pleased and would like to thank the crowd for the support. It would be hard for me to list all the people to whom I can dedicate that title and thank them. Of course, my wife. Ever since I proposed, I started to play better and better every day. She is a great motivation. Of course, I want to thank my mother, who brought me to tennis. My dad, who was supporting me financially. Many thanks to all my coaches, otherwise I can stand here for one hour to name all the people I would like to thank”, – said Daniil Medvedev, world number four in ATP singles ranking, in his on-court interview. The newly born champion of St. Petersburg Open has promised to come back to the Northern capital next year to defend his title.
