KAREN KHACHANOV WINS THE RUSSIAN DERBY AGAINST KARATSEV

The fourth seed Karen Khachanov ousted the wild card holder Aslan Karatsev (4/6, 7/5, 6/3). The clash between the two Russians lasted 2 hrs 16 mins. Khachanov made fewer unforced errors (34-46), and also won more points on his return (20-25).

«I started to keep the focus on my game and not to pay attention to his errors or good shots. Perhaps, it helped me to put more pressure on him. It is never easy to serve for the match. Aslan was playing aggressively that is why I tried to cheer myself up with “Come on” after a good rally”, – Karen commented on the match.
