IVASHKA TO FACE RUBLEV IN R2 AT ST. PETERSBURG OPEN 2021
The Belorussian Ilya Ivashka, ranked 46th in the world, sailed through the Serb Laslo Djere (№52 ATP) 6/3, 6/2 to reach R2 at the St. Petersburg Open 2021. The match lasted 1 hour 13 minutes. The Serb’s return didn’t work at all and he did more unforced errors (27 v. 15). In the next round Ilya Ivashka will take on the top-seed Russian Andrey Rublev. The tennis played played each other on the courts of St. Petersburg in 2019 and Rublev prevailed in three sets.
«I think I served pretty well today and I played consistently throughout the whole match. My opponent didn’t show his best tennis today. But I am happy with the way I played the match today”, – Ilya Ivashka shared his impressions from the match.
