St. Petersburg Open 2017 champion Damir Dzhumhur who got into the main draw as a lucky loser reached R2 after his opponent the Serb Janko Tipsarevic pulled out at 7/5, 3/6, 3/1. At the beginning of the third set the Serb asked for a medical time-out and the physio taped his foot tightly. But it didn’t help Janko much – after winning one game he lost the next two and congratulated his rival on a victory. Mikhail Kukushkin from Kazakhstan will be the next opponent of the tennis player from Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Mikhail [Kukushkin] is a very difficult opponent, we have already played this season, it’s 1-1 for now in our H2H. So I hope this time it will be a deciding match, and I will be up 2:1”, – Dzhumhur said in his on-court interview after the match.
