BORNA CORIC SURVIVES IN BATTLE WITH OPELKA

Last year’s runner-up at St. Petersburg Open 2020 Croat Borna Coric trailing 0/3 in the first set, rallied to turn the tide and clinched a victory over the American Reilly Opelka in straight sets -7/6 (3), 6/2. The Croat won more points on his return (25-8). The clash lasted 1 h 21 mins. In the semis he is to play the winner of the match Karen Khachanov (Russia) vs Milos Raonic (Canada). 

 

«I didn’t start very well in the first set. I was very nervous coming to the match. I didn’t know what to expect. I was down 1/4  and I wasn’t playing well and then obviously I have found my rhythm and I started to play better, I started to read his serve as well. And on my serve I was very solid, too”, – Borna said after the match.
