- About the tournament
Dear users! Currently, we are launching a new version of the ATP ST.PETERSBURG OPEN 2019 website. Sorry for any inconvience, thank you for your patience.
The Croat Borna Coric reached the finals of St.Petersburg Open as he beat Joao Sousa, the runner-up of St. Petersburg Open-2015 on Saturday, September 21 (3/6, 7/6 (7-5), 6/1). 11 aces didn’t help Sousa to win. Coric won his third consecutiev three-setter. “Actually I would like to win in straight sets, but unfortunately it doesn’t happen” he said. The fourth seed will meet home favorite Daniil Medvedev or the Belorussian qualifier Egor Gerasimov in the title match. Russian players haven’t won St. Petersburg Open since 2004.
“I will have it in mind, obviously, I’m going to look at it during the match, see how they are playing, even though I know them very well. It’s definitely going to be a great match. Now I just need to take time to recover and that’s about it”.
