The match lasted 2h 29 mins. The Latvian made more unforced errors – 56, while his opponents made 41 unforced errors.

Meanwhile the Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili lost in three sets to the Ecuadorian Emilio Gomez 6/7(7), 6/1, 4/6. Gabashvili fired 10 aces making 5 double faults while the Ecuadorian had 4 aces and made two doubles faults.
