The Croat Borna Coric, the 7th seed at St. Petersburg Open 2020, reached the finals for the second year in a row. In the semis he outplayed the Canadian Milos Raonic, the champion of St. Petersburg Open 2015, in three sets – 1/6, 6/1, 6/4 in 1 h 56 mins. The Croat won more points on his serve (51-43) and made fewer unforced errors (25-34).
«I do feel great obviously. I am just very happy that I won the match. I was very-very tough, in the first set I don’t remember when I was playing that bad honestly and also Milos was just serving huge, I didn’t have any response. But then in the second set I did find my rhythm and started to play better. And it was about it”, – Coric said after the match.
Borna Coric will square off with Andrey Rublev for the main trophy in the finals. Their H2H is 3-0 in Rublev’s favor.
